Welcome to Our School Website
Strathaird Primary School is situated in Narre Warren South. The first construction work was completed at the end of 2004 and we officially opened for the start of school in 2005. Strathaird opened with 8 composite classes and an enrolment of around 160 students. Since then, we have grown each year in enrolment size to now over 700 students of straight level classes from Prep to Year 6.
Our facilities and grounds have also grown with the changes in school enrolment. We pride ourself, as a school, on educating and helping the school community within our area. Our teachers are committed to providing teaching and learning programs based on the Victorian Curriculum, using best practice and evidence-based approaches using our School Instructional Model.
We have a strong emphasis on Literacy and Numeracy skills, throughout all levels of the school. Students are immersed each term in specific Inquiry units to develop their knowledge of the world. We have learning facilities, including a large Eco-Cabin Area that holds our Science and Technology room and Full Commercial Kitchen. An Art Room, Music Room with small stage, Sustainability Eco-Cubby Room with outside garden, Gymnasium, large outside basketball courts with covered roof, school oval, and a Junior and Senior playground. Our school teaches Auslan as a language other than English. To help support students whose first language is not English, we have an English as an Additional Language (EAL) daily small group program. We also have a before and after school care program on school site, that is run by TheirCare.
Our school promotes the values of Respect, Responsibility, Honesty and Compassion.
We have a commitment to student wellbeing and creating a safe and caring learning environment.
Any prospective parents in the school community interested in enrolment of their child/children please contact the school office on 03 97053800 for more information and to organise a school tour.
